SUMMER 2011 NEWSLETTER
Read all about...
- There were two literacy problems in the empire – a general lack of reading and writing skills, and the lack of a common language. The solution by the king and the scholar resulted in the Carolingian hand, today one of the most useful and beautiful of the styles in the calligrapher’s repertoire.
- The Triangle Calligraphers' Guild, once again headed by Don, is getting more hands on in order to help members with their skills, grow the organization, and educate the public about the art of calligraphy.
- Three people, two cats, one calligrapher, a Celtic theme, calfskin vellum, and the Carolingian hand. Bring it on!
- A series of mini-workshops and classes is allowing Don to simultaneously give back to the ancient art form he loves and increase calligraphic literacy.
